The Story / Symbol Pack is a set of materials to help people develop interactive reading with some picture story books for young children. The full set of materials consists of:
- A paper symbol chart, called Choose a Story, allowing the child to select their preferred story book
- The six story books
- Six colour paper symbol topic charts or ‘story boards’, one for each book
- BIGmack Tops - for sticking on to the top of a BIGmack - for each story there is a page of 2 sets of 3 pictures
- A written guide to ways of using the materials with children
The symbol charts are freely photocopiable and can be cut up. They should be laminated for use with children.
Apple Mac and PC disks with BoardMaker files for the charts are also available.
