Pupils with physical disabilities often can’t work the switches of most battery operated toys, such as racing cars, cassette recorders and such like. Many toys can, however, be adapted for switch operation, by fitting inexpensive battery adapters. Once the battery has been adapted, specialised switches can be attached. Then, even pupils with severe physical disabilities can have active control over their environment, and can play with the same toys as other children.
